This just in: the Dave Matthews Band announced a massive summer tour — including a Fourth of July concert in Charleston at the Joseph P. Riley Jr. Park with support from Old Crow Medicine Show.
Matthews (vocals, guitar), LeRoi Moore (saxophone), Carter “Hit ’em Like Billy Cobham” Beauford (drums), Stefan Lessard (bass), and Boyd Tinsley (violin) kick off their summer tour in late May behind a yet-to-be-titled forthcoming album. They’re currently wrapping a studio session with producer Rob Cavallo (Green Day, My Chemical Romance, Alanis Morissette). Longtime colleague Tim Reynolds added guitar tracks to the album as well. The disc will be their first release since 2005’s Stand Up.Tickets for the July 4 concert at The Joe go on sale for $65 (plus applicable fees) on Sat. March 29 at 10 a.m. (contact the box office at 843-577-3647).Tickets may be requested this month through the website of the Warehouse, the official Dave Matthews Band fan association. The Warehouse ticketing request period will end on Mon. March 17 (you must be a Warehouse member in order to request tickets).

Elegantly slobby Charlestonian, recently back after 16 years in Athens, Georgia. I remember the Killer Whales, the old Sonny Goldberg ads on TV, the "Happy Rain" kids show, and the Slip-Slidin' waterslide in Mt. P. I find high-quality beer, obscure rock records, and strong coffee irresistible. I edit and write for the City Paper's music section and play drums and make noise for fun.

This summer will be a great occasion for music lovers like to watch their favourite singers. Many singers have announced their tours and concerts and others are planning to. As I am music lover especially Rock music, I always attend a lot of singers and bands’ concerts such as Dave Matthews band to which I have a special love. I used not to care about ticket prices but a friend has advised me to compare prices before purchasing and recommended me a site for that purpose. Here it is you may need to use it.

Dave Matthews Tickets
It’s not meanness but thriftiness.
Gross!
I thought DMB was done. They can stay at home and let the Old Crows take over. Hopefully DMB’s frat boy grossness doesn’t rub off on them. I must say, I am dissapointed in OCMS for associating themselves with them.
Was that too harsh?
If you have no appreciation for Dave Matthews then your taste in music is shit. They will never be over, they reach a huge crowd and are one of the most talented bands I have ever watched perform. SHAME ON YOU!! I will be there and this will be my 3rd time seeing them perform and I will go anytime they are in the area.
Whether or not you like the band, I hope you’ll agree with me that what happened with the tickets (and tickets to many big shows) is absolutely disgusting and unfair. Tickets went on sale on Saturday, 3/29 @ 10am. By Sunday at 4pm the show was sold out, but there were at least 30 instances of people already re-selling their tickets on the internet double or triple the original cost. Now those of us who truly had our hearts set on this show either have to drop over $300 for two tickets, or we’re SOL.
Okay, sorry, Dave is so 1995. Remember, back when you were 9? He sold out. I saw him over 20 times in the 90’s, including one show that he cut short knowing that half of the stadium could not get to the venue due to a horrid accident on the only road entering the area. He played half full that night, and I’ll never look at him the same again.
Dave Matthews Band is the BEST group to hear live. Even if you don’t like them, you can’t deny that. I saw them a week ago and I still can’t get over how amazing they were. They have definitely not sold out. They play the same songs they have been playing for years…how is that selling out? People who talk shit about DMB are music snobs who used to like them or music snobs who are afraid to admit they like them. (i know that was kinda harsh)
