Stephen Colbert interrupts Rush, sleeps during Tom Sawyer

Flipping to Comedy Central tonight [Wed. June 16], I was stunned to see all three members of Canadian rock trio Rush (and all their gear) doing a rendition of “Tom Sawyer” on The Colbert Report. The host rarely brings full bands onto the set — and when he does, it’s usually someone more mainstream or […]

After hearing all the […]

A breathe of the brogue on the Fourth

Yesterday, someone asked me about my Fourth of July. Although I enjoyed playing some drums with friends in the evening sun at the Charleston Harbor Resort (just down the road from the massively-packed Patriots Point/Yorktown event), I had to admit the highlight of the holiday was in overhearing some pure Lowcountryspeak up in the quaint […]

What would you say? (DMB)

FEEDBACK FILE: Stratton! How was the Dave Matthews band concert at The Joe on the Fourth of July? What would you say?
STRATTON LAWRENCE: Or how long would you wait in line? Until Old Crow Medicine Show had come on stage, played their set, and left, while you stood half-way around the block waiting to get […]

In celebration, Art’s Bar & Grill (413 Coleman Blvd., 849-3040) hosts “CribbFest” this evening with music from […]
